The Office of the Governor of Guam said they have received a report of an unverified social media account claiming to be Governor Lou Leon Guerrero.

The Instagram account with the user handle @lonlg1950, has already been reported to authorities. The Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense have started monitoring the reported account and other fake social media accounts.

The Instagram user claiming to be the Governor is reportedly messaging users.

“I want you to know I am on Instagram. I am on Facebook. Although I just have to say, I am being hacked right now with Instagram. So when somebody says hello from Lou LG please ignore them. I am not giving out money and I am not giving out grants,” Leon Guerrero said during a media event.

“I will never ask anyone for their personal information. If you receive a message from this fake account, do not respond or accept the friend request, instead, report the activity to Instagram,” Leon Guerrero said.

Adelup says these are official accounts of the governor and Lt governor:
