Governor Thinks Delay in Release of ROD Is Good For Guam

Guam – Governor Felix Camacho and Lieutenant Governor Mike Cruz believe that the delay in the release of the Record of Decision for the military buildup is a good sign for Guam. In a joint statement the Camacho and Cruz say they believe that it means that the Navy is taking more time to consider the comments and concerns provided by the people of Guam.

The statement reads:

“We appreciate that the Navy has decided to delay the release of the Record of Decision. We believe the additional time allows the Navy the opportunity to thoroughly review the comments provided by the people of Guahan regarding the FEIS. This will help ensure that the federal government has a better understanding of our island’s concerns, and we are hopeful that with this additional time they will find ways to satisfactorily address our concerns.”
