“It is one community: GPA serves the civilian and the military. So, we serve the entire community and that’s the focus. The community owns us,” said CCU Chairman Joey Duenas.
Guam – The Guam Power Authority announced the dates of October 2nd through the 8th as “Public Power Week” and held a press conference in recognition of their milestone achievements this year.
GPA employs more than 500 Guamanians, and to commemorate their hard work, several retirees were recognized for their contribution to the company.
The chairman of the Consolidated Commission of Utilities, Joey Duenas, applauded all the employees for providing one of the most important resources on the island.
“We all serve the community of Guam. It is one community, GPA serves the civilian and the military, so we serve the entire community and that’s the focus. The community owns us. So it’s an ownership thing. The community owns this company and we’re not going anywhere and we’re a lot better off than where we were even three years ago even 15 years ago, I’m very proud of Guam Power Authority,” he said.
