GPD Applies for Federal DNA Grant to Help Solve Cold Cases


Guam – The Guam Police Department has submitted a federal grant application to the Guam State Clearinghouse (GSC) requesting $118,694 from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs.

The grant, Solving Cold Cases with DNA, with CFDA number 16.560 has a projected start date of October 1, 2011 and ends on March 31, 2013.

Funds from this grant will be used to enable the Guam Police Department’s Cold Case Unit’s ability to improve the quality and timeliness of processing forensic evidence. Using the GSC State Application Identifier, 01211031117N, a summary of the application may be viewed or downloaded upon request to the Guam State Clearinghouse.
