Guam police say they’ve arrested a 44-year-old man in connection with an assault in Mangilao.

In a release, police say at around 11 p.m. Saturday, March 7, officers responded to the Bank of Guam parking lot in Mangilao, in relation to a domestic disturbance.

Preliminary reports say the responding officers met with the reporting person on scene, who said a man was beating on a female in the parking lot.

The reporting person said the suspect had dragged the female to the parking lot of PayLess in Mangilao. Bystanders came to the aid of the female, at which point the male immediately fled the area.

Guam Police Department fficers later met with the female victim to piece together the details of what happened.

From that information, GPD officers located 44-year-old Brian William Elm at his Mangilao home, where he was arrested for assault and family violence.

He was booked and confined at the Department of Corrections and the case is with the Office of the Attorney General for prosecution.
