DOE Staffer Arrested In Connection With Distribution of False Calvo-Tenorio Campaign Literature

Guam – Guam DOE Superintendent Dr. Nerissa Underwood has confirmed that a DOE employee has been arrested in connection with the false Calvo-Tenorio campaign literature distributed prior to the UOG Great Debate the week before the General Election.

Underwood told PNC News that Deputy Superintendent of Finance Taling Taitano informed her today [Tuesday] that DOE Maintenance Employee Jeanette Guzman was arrested by Guam Police Monday on charges of  Guilt Established by Complicity in connection with the false campaign literature distributed prior to the Great Debate.

Underwood did not know the details of the charge and Guam Police were unavailable for comment prior to news time.

The literature in question was a take off of the Calvo-Tenorio campaign platform “BluePrint 2020,” which was released in September. The fake document suggested the Calvo-Tenorio would cut GovGuam jobs.

Underwood said that no decision has been made on whether or not any disciplinary action would be taken against Guzman.
