GPD: Death investigation underway at Taitano Apts. in MTM

A man was found dead at the Taitano apartment building on JA Camacho Street in Mongmong-Toto-Maite this morning.

Sgt. Paul Tapao told reporters this morning that “GPD (is) currently conducting a death investigation.”

He said the victim is reported to be a man in his late forties. He was found inside a second floor apartment about 7 a.m. this morning.

Detectives are conducting interviews. And an autopsy will be performed “to determine the cause and manner of death,” said Sgt. Tapao in a release.

MTM Mayor Rudy Paco told the Pacific News Center that he received a report of two gun shots from the neighborhood watch commander who lives on the street.

Janet Burkhart, who lives in the neighboring Maite Town apartments, said she heard two loud “metal” noises about 7 a.m.

The case remains under investigation.
