Guam – It truly is the season of giving. Earlier this week, the Guam Police Department Dededo Precinct donated $200 dollars worth of household items to the Catholic Social Services Alee Shelter.
GPD Officer Justin Edquilane says this is the start of great things to come from their precinct. He explains that they have a Community Resource Unit committed to reaching out and giving back to the community. They decided to team up with the Alee Shelter which shelters women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Alee Shelther Program Manager Paula Perez says this donation will help them in day-to-day operations.
Edquilane says, “We wanted to work with Alee Shelter, they’re great service out there and we want more people to know about it because we do work hand in hand most of the time. Alee Shelter deals with victims of family violence that’s something we as officers are very committed to.”
Perez explains, “We felt very grateful because our budget is limited. When he asked what we needed, we said household items and they came through big time for us.”
