On Sunday, December 6, 2020, traffic investigators from GPD’S Highway Patrol Division were activated to assume a fatal auto-ran-off roadway crash in Santa Rita.

Preliminary reports suggest that a black Nissan Frontier was traveling north on Route 5, by AC Circle in Santa Rita, when the operator lost control and ran off the roadway and struck a power pole.

According to GPD spokesman Sgt. Paul Tapao, the 30-year-old male operator was transported to Guam Memorial Hospital and was pronounced deceased by attending physicians.

This case remains open as crash investigators have yet to determine if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
