The 13-year-old girl who was reported missing but found later today is a “beyond control” case, according to the Guam Police Department.

According to GPD spokesman Sgt. Paul Tapao, the parents of the 13-year-old student from F.B.L.G. Middle School filed a “beyond control” complaint with the Dededo Precinct Command on Tuesday, Feb. 11.

The preliminary report suggests that arrangements were made with the female minor and her parents to be picked up from school after a basketball clinic. Upon the parents’ arrival, the female minor was not at the designated location which prompted the filing of the complaint.

On Wednesday, Feb. 12, investigators from GPD’S Juvenile Investigation Division were informed by the parent that their child had been located and was safe.

Investigators later met with both parents and the female minor where she was taken into custody and later released back to her parents.

Tapao said a notice to appear was issued relative to this case.
