GPD: Moped Rider in Stable at GMH Following Wednesday Evening Collision With a Subaru in Barrigada Heights


Guam – A moped rider was in stable condition at GMH Thursday afternoon following a collision with a Subaru Wednesday evening in Barrigada Heights.

Guam Police Spokesman Officer A.J. Balajadia reported that the man was riding southbound on Route 16 on a 2009 Yamaha moped when a woman driving a Gold 2006 Subaru Tribeca make a left turn off Route 16 onto Pangelinan Way and collided with the moped.

 Guam Fire Spokesman Lt. Ed Artero reported that the 911 call came in at 6:26pm and he said GFD Units responded to a auto/motorcycle crash with serious injury.

The accident remains under investigation.

BARRIGADA HGTS. – 6:20pm, Wednesday, December 18, 2013, while a female adult operator of a 2006 Subaru Tribeca color Gold attempted to make a left turn off Rt 16 into Pangelinan Way she collided with a male operator of a 2009 Yamaha moped who was traveling on Rt 16 Southbound towards GMF.

The operator of the moped was transported to GMH to be treated for his injuries. Guam Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the cause I this crash.
