GPD says victim in Saturday’s Dededo auto-ped crash is alive

On Sunday, February 28, 2021, the Guam Police Department issued a media release regarding the investigation of a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred on Saturday, February 27, 2021, in Dededo by 76 Circle K Gas Station.

The media release had indicated that the male victim was transported to Guam Regional Medical City for treatment and care and later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The case was forwarded to GPD’S Highway Patrol Division for a follow-up investigation.

On Tuesday, March 2, 2021, a follow-up investigation was done by traffic investigators from GPD’S Highway Patrol Division.

Through the course of the follow-up investigation, investigators learned that the male victim involved in the auto-pedestrian crash was not deceased and is recovering from
emergency surgery.

This case is ongoing.
