GPD Seeks Help In Catching Purse Snatchers


Guam – Guam Police are asking for the public’s assistance in catching 2 men who snatched a purse from a Japanese tourist about 3:30 am this morning [Friday].

It happaned down in Tumon across from the Reef Hotel by the Sun Plaza.

Police report that the victim was a 27 year old Japanese female who was standing on the corner with her girlfriend when 2 men approached her from behind and one of them grabbed her pursue. The suspects fled in a dark colored sedan.

The woman was unable to provide a good description of the suspects.

Police Spokesman Officer A.J. Balajadia says police are looking for 2 two locals males with dark complexion. No description of their clothing was given.

Officer Balajadia says that about 10 am this morning, some of the items in the purse taken from the woman were recovered at the Chamorro Village and given back to the victim.
