GPD summer youth program temporarily suspended after 1 participant tests positive for COVID-19

On Tuesday, June 1, 2021, a Project U Youth participant had tested positive for COVID-19.

The positive case was identified when the youth participant was transported to Guam Memorial Hospital relative to an injury the participant sustained while playing.

Upon arrival at GMH, the youth participant was tested for COVID-19 which yielded positive results for COVID-19.

The Guam Police Department has temporarily suspended the youth summer program and are working closely with the Department of Public Health and Social Services, the youth participants and their families, and Project U’s Safe School Partners.
