Guam – The all lanes of Rt. 10 in Mangilao were closed for over 3 hours Thursday afternoon after a gravel truck with a full load over turned following a close encounter with a Toyota Rav4.

It happened near the Bank of Guam and the Mangilao Payless just after 2 pm. Route 10 was finally re-opened about 5:20 pm.

A witness at the scene told PNC News that the JS & Sons gravel truck was heading South on Route 10 when a Toyota Rav4 pulled out of the Bank of Guam parking lot causing the truck to swerve into the oncoming lane and then back into it’s own lane to avoid hitting oncoming traffic and that caused the truck to overturn and  spill it’s gravel all over the highway.

The female driver of a Toyota Rav4 and the male driver of tractor trailer were transported to GMH.  They are both conscious and responsive.

According to GPD PIO AJ Balajadia the drivers of both the dump truck and the Rav4 were transported to the hospital however they appeared to have non-life threatening injuries. Rt. 10 was re-opened about 5:30 Thursday afternoon.
