In celebration of the hospital’s fifth anniversary, the employees of Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC) have redesigned the garden on the third floor.

Now divided into sections, the garden features a variety of different focal areas each representing a different department or group of employees. The newly reconceptualized outdoor area is now called The Healing Garden.

The Healing Garden was an employee project from start to finish to foster teamwork. The employee teams were given creative license to develop their section and the results are a unique combination of decorative plants and flowers, herbs, water features, and a section for playing games.

Employees also included sitting areas throughout the garden so visitors can relax and enjoy the view.

“I am very proud of our employees,” said Executive Vice President/COO Alan Funtanilla, “It was a lot of hard work to create the new garden with its many different features, but our employees pulled it off. They worked very hard as a team to make our Healing Garden a place of tranquility and beauty.”

Previously, the Healing Garden area was used predominantly by patients to get some fresh air during their stay at GRMC. Now that it has had a major re-vamping, GRMC hopes to see patients joined by our employees taking a short break to enjoy Guam’s beautiful weather in the new Healing Garden.

GRMC will also start the celebration of its 5th year anniversary on Monday, July 20th with a WAVE at the intersection of Rt. 16 and Marine Corps Drive, across from Jollibee restaurant from 7:30 – 8:30 am.
