GRMC CEO Margaret Bengzon says they are honored to be able to contribute to FestPac.
Guam – As part of their commitment to the Arts Program, the Guam Regional Medical City today made a huge contribution of $100,000 to the Festival of Pacific Arts.
The check is part of GRMC’s $1.5 million contribution to Percent for the Arts Program that requires agencies to dedicate a portion of their construction costs to the arts.
However, GRMC CEO Margaret Bengzon says that the donation is more than just a requirement. She says GRMC is honored to be able to contribute to the local community and development of the arts on Guam.
“Even bigger than that it’s really our vision of being a resource for Guam in Guam’s development and any development, particularly if it’s gonna be equitable, it needs to be rooted in enriching, revitalization of the base cultures. So we’re excited to play even a small part in this,” she says.
At the check presentation were Governor Eddie Calvo, GVB General Manager Nate Denight, Dededo Mayor Melissa Savares, Council for the Arts and Humanities Chairperson Monica Guzman and Chamorro Affairs Director Joseph Cameron.
