GRMC hires restructuring officer

Guam – The Guam Regional Medical City is on a mission to streamline operations and improve procedures at the hospital and to do this they have brought in an expert.

Hugh King was hired by GRMC as the Chief Restructuring Officer to ensure the hospital operates at “optimum efficiency.”

GRMC Spokeswoman Cindy Hansen says, “King is an expert in U.S. hospital standards that meet the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services guidelines and best practices nationwide.”

Hugh will be reviewing the hospital’s practices and re-addressing some of the previous practices to ensure US standards are met and exceeded.

CEO and president Doctor Michael Cruz says, “Although GRMC has secured accreditation from both The Joint Commission and the CMS, we won’t rest on our laurels and will continue seeking ways to improve. Hugh will assist us in achieving these goals by helping GRMC to be more efficient with our operations and finances.”

According to Hansen King has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry and 15 years as a hospital executive. His expertise lies in strategic business planning and execution, improvement in financial and clinical operations, and strategic financial planning.

King has worked throughout the US at some of the country’s leading hospitals to implement US systems of care, more effective billing practices and to achieve tremendous cost savings by eliminating unnecessary overhead.”

He has worked as a C-Suite executive in multi-hospital systems in six states, including Florida, Texas and California as a CEO, COO, and CFO.
