Guam Regional Medical City would like to announce the following services that are still available to outpatients.

Our Specialty Services unit remains open for new and follow up appointments with Cardiology, Pulmonology, Infectious Disease, Orthopedics, Oncology and Hematology, Neuroscience, Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, and General Surgery. We continue to provide outpatient procedures such as echocardiogram, Zio patch continuous cardiac monitoring, stress tests, Pulmonary function tests (PFTs), sleep tests, radiology and lab work. We will also continue infusion services (for antibiotic and chemotherapy) and radiation therapy. Our Rehabilitation department will resume seeing patients at this
time.

To ensure social distancing, GRMC has been actively reducing patient visits to the hospital, prioritizing those in need of more acute follow up. Outpatients requiring less urgent follow up will be contacted and offered the option of a Telehealth visit. Telehealth allows patients to participate in audio/visual appointments at home via computer, tablet, or smartphone. Patients without internet can request their appointment take place by telephone.

Although GRMC has suspended visitation, outpatients who require assistance getting to their appointments will be allowed one companion. The only other exception to the suspended visitation policy will be children brought to the Emergency Room, who may be accompanied by one parent or legal guardian.

GRMC would like to remind the community that visitors are no longer allowed to wait in the surgical lobby on the second floor. Our staff will obtain the name and contact number of the person(s) we should notify when surgical patients are ready to be safely discharged.

Our current morgue policy limiting viewings to no more than five (5) people remains in place.

However, per Executive Order 2020-09, everyone must wear a mask. We ask the public to please be aware that GRMC cannot provide masks as our supplies must be conserved for healthcare workers.

Everyone entering GRMC must also be pre-screened. Anyone not wearing a mask or refusing to be screened will be denied entry.

GRMC regrets any inconvenience or hardship but these measures are necessary to keep everyone as safe as possible. We appreciate the community’s understanding as we work together to combat the coronavirus.
