Guam – In preparation for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, the Guam Regional Medical City and the American Cancer Society Guam Field Office invite middle and high school students on Guam to put their writing skills to the test.
The theme is “Finishing the fight against cancer starts with me.” The deadline to submit an entry is May 9.
Three middle school and three high school winners will each receive a cash prize ranging from $200 to $800. Essays must be typewritten and not exceed 800 words; they will be judged on originality, creativity, writing style and adherence to the theme. Completed submissions (essay, registration and parent permission form) must be delivered to the American Cancer Society Field Office at 479 West O’Brien Drive, Suite 102, in Hagatna (Bank of Guam Santa Cruz Branch Building next to Julale Shopping Center), by Friday, May 9, 2014 at 4 p.m.
