Guam – GTA and the University of Guam Professional and International Programs Office launched a management training and development program in June which was developed to provide GTA’s managers with extensive training in in management and leadership skills.
“As a telecommunications company we need forward thinking managers who can see the big picture and are able to make the decisions that help us realize our strategic goals,” said GTA CEO Robert Haulbrook.
The management training and development program includes 104 hours of coursework which will be delivered between June and October of 2013. The UOG program is based on curriculum developed by the American Management Association (AMA) which includes courses such as Communication Skills for Managers, Gaining a Competitive Advantage with Shared Leadership Teams, Leadership Skills for Managers, and a Fair, Square, and Legal course among other courses.
“The most valuable resource a company has is its employees,” said Cathleen Moore-Linn, Director of UOG’s Professional & International Programs Office. “GTA is making a significant investment in its managers and the future of the company by providing employees with leadership skill development which will ultimately support company growth.”
GTA participants in the program represent a variety of departments, and each individual who completes five courses will receive a UOG/AMA Certificate in Management.
