GTA Donates Bags and School Supplies to Catholic Social Services

Speaking of back to school, GTA Teleguam donated 250 hundred mesh bags and about 500 school supply kits to the Catholic Social Services earlier this afternoon.

GTA says they want to help families who are struggling to purchase school supplies through these tough economic times and there’s no better way than to donate to the CSS which is seeking donations of supplies for students in first through fifth grade. Even GTA employees contributed by making personal donations such as pens, composition notebooks, and binders. CSS Deputy Director Peter John Camacho says this donation will benefit about 200 students.

Camacho says, “This will go to the students who can’t afford purchasing school supplies. This would go to a good use and we’re more appreciate and thank you. We look forward to a continued partnership with you folks to help our community.”
GTA Vice President HR Rose Morales says, “It’s an effort we want to be a part of every year and continue to invest in our kids who are going to be our future leader for the island. So it’s important that we give them the tools and resources they need to be successful in school.”

Catholic Social Services is still accepting new or gently used backpacks and basic school supplies. Donations can be dropped off at their main office in Barrigada Heights behind the Department of Revenue and Taxation Monday through Friday between 8 am to 4 pm. To see if you qualify to receive donations, please call CSS at 635-1441.
