GTA promotes new directors to their leadership team


GTA promotes Laura Nelson-Cepeda to the position of Director of Public Relations and Corporate Citizenship. Laura joined GTA in August 2018 as the Client Relations Executive, she was responsible for launching the client relations platform at GTA, fostering partnerships and enhancing the customer relations experience.

Stepping into her role she’s driven global and local coverage, and was instrumental in GTA Experience Center grand opening events. Laura has over 10+ years of experience in marketing and business. Her leadership capacity has been valuable with the successful launch of strategic marketing platforms, awarded grants and business start-ups.

Laura recently launched GTA’s first-ever Youth Leader Program highlighting high school youth leaders in the community who excel in arts, sports and academics. As Director of Public Relations and Corporate Citizenship, she is responsible for public relations and establishing a strong foundation of corporate citizenship for the company.

She currently sits as a board member for the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), is Membership co-chair for Guam Women’s Chamber of Commerce and is an active member of the Island Sustainability Advisory Board. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Marketing from Chaminade University of Honolulu and is a proud Alumna of the University of Guam where she obtained her MBA.

GTA promotes Therese “Chech” Guerrero to the position of Brand Director. Chech joined GTA in July 2009 as the Visual Merchandising and Graphic Design Manager in Marketing. She was essential to the initial launch of the iPhone 3Gs in 2009.

In her role she led the redesign of the GTA retail stores integrating the orange and blue color scheme in 2014 & 2015. Chech was instrumental in the creation of Team Up for Good which drove community initiatives for the company. She transitioned into her role as the Brand Manager in 2019 and led the rebranding activities, the grand opening of the GTA Experience Center and Block Party and the successful launch of the iPhone 11 & Apple Watch. As Brand Director she will continue to lead the company in all branding activities.

Chech is a graduate of the University of Guam with a degree in communications. Prior to joining GTA she was the Visual Merchandising Manager at DFS Guam and DFS Hawaii.

GTA promotes Restine Hernandez to the position of Director of Human Resources & Learning & Development. Restine joined GTA in the summer of 2016 as the Learning and Development Manager, paving the way to developing our GTA employees.

In the short time, she was instrumental by launching the company’s first ever Learning Management System. She helped transformed the company to a digital platform by shifting the company’s manual application process to an online Application Tracking System. She is a team player and also assisted in the rollout of GTA’s new time in and out management system.

Restine received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a concentration in Human Resources and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Guam. She currently sits as a board member, as the Vice President of Programs for the SHRM Guam Chapter. In 2018, Restine enlisted in the United States Airforce Reserves where she proudly serves our country.
