The Guam Air National Guard now has its first female Chief Master Sergeant.

CMSgt Melanie Manglona was recently promoted and Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero helped recognize the Guard’s first female Chief Master Sergeant during a recent ceremony.

Manglona said: “Thank you to my leaders, past and present, for never giving up on me… Thank you to my sisters – my best friends… To my parents, this milestone is about you as much as me. To my children, you are the strength that keeps me pushing every day. To my husband, thank you for always loving me and standing by me. And finally, to the lord above: thank you for blessing me with much more than I could ever deserve.”
