Guam – The Guam Bar Association has adopted a resolution to address its rules of professional conduct that would allow lawyers to provide legal guidance on marijuana following the enactment of the Guam Cannabis Industry Act of 2019.
The resolution amending its professional code of conduct was presented at their annual meeting on Tuesday. The resolution states “A lawyer may counsel or assist a client regarding Guam’s marijuana and cannabis-related laws. If Guam law differs from federal law, the lawyer shall also advise the client regarding federal law and policy.”
A petition will be made to the Supreme Court for their consideration. (By Andrea Pellacani, email@example.com)
