Guam-based company wins $18.6 million military contract

Guam – A Guam-based company has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract by the U.S. military.

Modern International Inc., located in Barrigada, was awarded a firm-fixed contract totaling $18.6 million.

The work calls for the removal of aprons and the construction of two hangars at Northwest Field, Andersen Air Force Base as well as the building of new tension fabric structure and hangars with fuel cell maintenance capability.

In addition, the work calls for the construction of concrete aprons/pads, concrete footings, and concrete aprons/pad access.

According to Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Marianas, or NAVFAC, work will be performed in Yigo and is expected to be completed by January 2020.
