Guam – Guam DOE Superintendent Jon Fernandez has issued a memo to all DOE employees advising that this coming Monday, March 3, has been declared a GovGuam holiday in celebration of “Guam History and Chamorro Heritage Day” and therefore all Guam public schools will be closed on that day.
Guam law requires 180 school days. The current school calendar was approved in February of last year. The next available make-up day is April 14.
“Therefore, our schools will make-up the lost instructional day on this date [April 14] “, writes Fernandez.
The only exception is Simon Sanchez High School has an already scheduled make-up day on April 14th. As a result, Fernandez writes, Simon Sanchez will make-up for the lost instructional day on April 15th.
