Guam DOE Seeks Parents’ Help With E-Rate Survey

Guam – As part of the Guam Department of Education’s efforts to strengthen technology and expand Internet connections to all Guam schools, DOE is once again asking for parents’ help with information.

DOE will be applying for discount funding for Telecommunication Services, Internet Access Services, and Internal Connection Basic Maintenance Services in E-Rate Cycle Year 2012.

Our school system is eligible for federally-funded E-rate discounts ranging from 20% to 90% of the cost for these services.

To achieve the highest possible discount percentage, DOE requests the help of parents and legal guardians to complete a survey for each child in their household who is in grade Kindergarten through 12th.  In the past 12 years these surveys have helped us compile information that has successfully resulted in higher E-rate discounts and increased Internet connectivity.

Please have your child return the completed School Funding E-Rate Eligibility Survey to his or her school on or before Friday, October 21, 2011.  If your child has not provided you a copy of the survey to complete you may contact your child’s school or visit the Department of Education website at to download a survey copy.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact your child’s school by phone or via email at
