Guam – Guam Department of Education Superintendent Nerissa Underwood will step down when her contract expires on July 22.
Underwood made the announcement last night [Wednesday] at the Guam Education Board meeting.
On the Breakfast Show this morning she said after 30 years with Guam DOE its time to move on, but she declined to explain why she is stepping down at this time.
However, Underwood said made the announcement well ahead of the expiration of her contract in order to allow the Board plenty of time to find a replacement. The School Board has never had the luxury of time to select a new superintendent and now they do she said.
