The Guam Department of Youth Affairs is scheduled to host its annual Oratorical Contest this week at the Guam Congress Building in Hagatna, which was open to middle and high school students.

Guam DYA has been organizing this contest for more than two decades now, giving teens a platform to speak their viewpoint on issues affecting them.

Participants must write and deliver a three to five minute speech on this year’s Youth Month theme: The Power of Resiliency.

Middle schoolers will present their speeches to a panel of judges from 6 to 9 p.m. on April 11 at the Guam Congress Building in Hagatna.

On April 12, high schoolers will deliver speeches 6 to 9 p.m. on April 12 at the Guam Congress Building in Hagatna.

Winners will be Youth Governor and Youth Lt. Governor during Island Leadership Day on April 27.
