Guam Fire Responds to Grassfires in Tumon, Dededo and Yigo

Camacho says GFD units cleared the fire in Yigo, however a grassfire along Hahasu Dr. is yet to be contained, GFD is requesting Guam EPA’s assistance as the fire has spread to include abandoned cars and trash.

Guam – Today was a busy day for the Guam Fire Department as GFD responded to three grassfires across the island.

 

According to GFD PIO Phillip Camacho, at 1:27 p.m. today units were dispatched Tun Joaquin Santos St. In Tumon for a grassfire. As of news time, GFD units in collaboration with the Department of Agricultures forestry units, were still responding to the fire. No evacuations or injuries have been reported as of this time. Meanwhile, Camacho says GFD units also responded to grassfires in Yigo and Dededo.
