Guam GOP: 19 Potential Candidates Announced at Friday’s Lincoln Dinner

Guam – The Guam Republican party held its annual “Lincoln Dinner” Friday night and announced a slate of 19 potential candidates for this year’s elections.

Among them former  2 term Guam Governor Felix Camacho who is a potential candidate for Guam Delegate and his sister, former Port general Manager Mary Torres who has expressed an interest in running for the Guam legislature.     

The current 6 incumbent republican Guam Senators are on the list to run again, along with former Senator Jim Espaldon and another former Port general Manager,  Glen Leon Guerrero.  [see the full list below]

The Lincoln dinner was held at the Sheraton. More than 700 attended.

Hagatna, Guam.  In front of a sold out venue of over 700 people last night, the Republican Party of Guam announced a growing list of candidates who have expressed interest in or who have been invited to run for office.

According to Mike Benito, Republican Party Chairman, the party is seeing growth and momentum. “The slate of candidates represents diversity from different cross-sections of the community. The people of Guam are looking for leaders that will grow the economy and improve the quality of life for working families on Guam, and the Republican Party is answering this call. ”

The Republican Party of Guam has seen growth and renewed vigor the past few years, attracting supporters and candidates from families that are traditionally Democrat and Independent. “We are pleased with the growth and interest in the party. All are welcome,” Benito said.

The party will continue to update the slate as new candidates come on board.
