Guam – On Saipan, Guam Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and First Gentleman Jeff Cook attended inaugural ceremonies for the start of CNMI Gov. Ralph Torres’s second term in office today.

In photos shared with PNC, Guam’s first couple is seen with various CNMI dignitaries. Guam dignitaries in attendance during inaugural festivities included Speaker Tina Muna Barnes (D), Legislative Secretary Sen. Amanda Shelton (D), and Sen. Louise Muna (R).

Gov. Torres’s new lieutenant governor is former CNMI Senate President Arnold Palacios. Torres’ first term lieutenant governor was Victor Hocog, who bowed out of seeking reelection as segundo and who now replaces Palacios as senate president.

The inauguration was delayed due to the commonwealth’s recovery efforts in the aftermath of Super Typhoon Yutu last October.
