Guam Guard Kicks Off Konfitma Exercise in Saipan TUESDAY


Saipan – The Guam National Guard’s 94th Civil Support Team – Weapons of Mass Destruction unit will be participating in Exercise Konfitma which kicks off in Saipan on Tuesday, May 17.
Exercise Konfitma will serve to provide an interagency and multi-CST unit field training exercise on Saipan that will help maintain operational response procedures during an incident of national significance.

The exercise will also involve the many agencies from the Commonwealth of the Marianas government, including the CNMI Homeland Security, Emergency Management Office, Department of Public Safety and the Ports Authority.

The exercise also aims to validate Inter-agency coordination and response systems in the CNMI.

The 94th CST will be working with teams from the 103rd CST of the Alaska National Guard and 93rd CST from the Hawaii National Guard

The Navy’s HSC-25 will also be supporting Exercise Konfitma by providing air movement of samples and the 94th CST’s Analytical Laboratory System operator from Saipan to the Guam Guard’s Army Readiness Center (ARC) parade field in Barrigada, arriving at about noon on Wednesday, May 18.

While most of the members of the 94th CST are participating in Exercise Konfitma, members of the 9th CST from the California National Guard and the 92nd CST from the Nevada National Guard will be on island to ensure continuation of the unit’s first response mission on Guam.
