The 2018 Guam Masters Baseball League concluded its season on Saturday, October 13, with Title Games in the Championship and Consolation Divisions at Paseo Stadium. At 3:00pm in the Consolation Division in the Double Elimination Format, the Sinajana G-Rai defeated C-Men’z for the Championship taking the 12-3 win. In the top of the 1st inning, C-Men’z scored three quick runs off G-Rai Starter, Kin Rosario. The G-Rai answered right back with three in the bottom of the inning against C-Men’z Starter Mike Alvarez to tie the game and continued to score in every inning to run away with the victory. Rosario went the maximum four innings, allowing three runs, on three hits, and no walks. Sinajana’s Javier Manibusan was 2-for-2, and 2RBI. Luke Tedtaotao went 2-for-3, double, RBI, and scored a run. For C-Men’z, Ed Mendiola was 2-for-3, with an RBI.
In the Championship Title game at 6:30pm, the Season Pennant Winners, Southern Rangers beat the Yigo Hunters, 8-3. Rangers Starter, Jorge Pecina, went the maximum four innings, allowing no runs, on two hits, five strikeouts, and just one walk. Southern scored six runs in the bottom of the 4th to seal the win and lay claim to the 2018 GMBL 2018 Championship. For the Rangers, Roland “Undo” Cruz went 3-for-4, 2RBI, and a run scored. Kevin Isezaki was 2-for-4. Pat Alvarez went 1-for-4, 2RBI, and a run scored. Tony Yatar pitched the 6th and 7th innings allowing just one run, on two hits, striking out five, giving up just one walk to secure the win for Southern. For the Hunters, Manny Borja was 2-for-4, and an RBI. Rick Cruz was 2-for-4, double, and an RBI.
