Guam – The Guam Medical Association [GM] has announced that they have appointed Dr. Erika Masuda Alford as their official GMA spokesperson.
GMA is the largest professional health care association on island. It is made up of over 90% of Guam’s health care providers.
Dr. Alford was born at Guam Memorial Hospital and raised on Guam.
After graduating from the Academy of Our Lady of Guam, she attended the University of Pittsburgh where graduated Suma Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Japanese.
She then attended New York Medical College where she obtained her Doctor of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in Primary Care Internal Medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center.
Upon completing her sub-specialty training in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Baylor College of Medicine and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, Dr. Alford returned home where she now practices at American Medical Center. Dr. Alford is a dedicated member of the Guam Medical Association and a strong advocate for Guam’s patients.
