Guam Men’s Volleyball Team Holding Tryouts

Guam – The last time Guam fielded a Men’s Volleyball team for the Pacific Games was in 2003 where they lost to Fiji in the Quarterfinals. Chris Shepherd was a part of that team and the Head Coach for the St. John’s Girl’s Volleyball team is now the Head coach for the Guam Men’s National Volleyball Team. Under Guam National Olympic Commitee rules, team members must be determined after open tryouts are conducted.

Currently tryouts for the Men’s National Volleyball team are at the St. John’s Gym on Mondays and Thursdays and it’s an open tryout for anyone who thinks they have what it takes to represent Guam in the coming 2011 Pacific Games in New Caledonia.

Shepherd is encouraging interested players to come out immediately because open tryouts will end this month and stressed that the more practice the better.
