Guam – Just in time for Memorial Day, The Guam National Guard held their annual Fallen Heroes Memorial Ceremony.

Every year, the Guam National Guard hosts the ceremony to pay tribute to their fallen heroes and honor the families who have suffered the loss of a loved one. Families of fallen heroes Sergeant Eugene Aguon, Sergeant Gregory Fejeran, Sergeant Christopher Fernandez, Sergeant Brian Leon Guerrero, Specialist Dwayne Flores, and Sergeant Samson Mora attended the special ceremony and laid a wreath for their loved ones at the Fallen Heroes Memorial Monument. During the ceremony, all full-time Guam Guard members also lined up for a solemn salute.

Adjutant General of the Guam National Guard Col. Roderick Leon Guerrero says, “Every day, every solider or airmen who walks past this monument, they render a salute. Many times, I see soldiers past and do a solemn salute. They take the time to kneel, reflect and remember. It is clear that our Guam Guard fallen heroes have touched the lives of hundreds of soldiers and airmen.”

The Fallen Heroes Monument sits firm in front of the Joint Forces Headquarters Building in Barrigada.
