Guam’s Filipino Community Seeks Donations For Typhoon Sendong Disaster Relief In PI


Guam- The Filipino Community of Guam (FCG) is hosting a typhoon disaster assistance drive for victims of Typhoon Sendong.

The typhoon hit the southern part of the Philippines over the weekend. According to the Philippine Red Cross, the storm has killed over 650 people and left over 900 missing. FCG President Leah Beth Naholowaa says her organization is accepting donations and supplies that can help people that have been affected by this disaster. Through the public’s help, she adds all donated items will be transferred to the Philippine Consulate Office for distribution.

“We’re asking the public to please support us in this drive” said Naholowaa. “We’re starting it today. used clothes…whatever you can donate. Please send it to us. They can drop it off at National Office Supply, the Seaside Market and the Office of Vice Speaker Cruz and call any one of us. If they are not able to drop it off, we’ll pick up .”
