Guam – New Zealand scored five runs in the sixth inning to propel themselves past Guam 9-2 and recover from a two game losing streak. This puts the New Zealanders in second place with Guam and the CNMI tied at 1-4.
Makauley Rolfe was awarded with the win and put down 7 batters in the complete game. Clayton Cruz was given the loss and recorded 5 strikeouts. NZ’s Nick Koh went 2-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBIS and teammate Dewald Deklerk was 3-4 with a run and 2RBIs. For Guam Justin Elm went 1-3 with a run and a triple.
Today was a probable preview of the final games tomorrow with Australia versus New Zealand and Guam versus the CNMI. Tomorrow the Bronze medal game is at 4 and the gold medal game is at 7 at the Paseo Stadium.
