Guam, Philippines Legislators Playing Basketball Saturday

Guam – A delegation of 25 people comprised of Philippine’s House of Representative Congressmen, movie actor and government officials will be on Guam to Participate in the Guam-Philippines Legislators Celebrity Shootout 2011.  The event will be held at the Okkodo gym on Saturday, March 26, 2011.  There is no entrance fee but donations will be accepted at the door for the Japan tsunami relief fund.  Opening ceremonies will start at 6:00 p.m. with tip off at 6:30 p.m.

“In order to grow and develop our relationship with the Philippines, Guam needs to attract different visitor segments and markets.  The Guam-Philippines Lefislators Celebrity Shootout 2011 is an event that will bring visiting Philippines legislators and officials to see what Guam has to offer,” said former Senator Jim Espaldon, a co-ordinator of the event.

“This will increase regional friendships and further enhance sports-tourism between Guam and the Philippines.  I hope those who participate in the game experience all the positive things that Guam has to offer,” said Speaker Judith Won Pat.

The Team Guam roster will include Gov. Eddie Calvo, Spkr. Judith Won Pat, Sen. Tina Muna Barnes, Sen. Frank Blas, Jr., former Lt. Gov. Dr. Mike Cruz, former Sen. Jim Espaldon, former Sen. Francis Santos, Frank Arriola, Frank Roberto, Ed Cruz, Peter Roy Martinez, Steve Guerrero, Paul Pineda, Mike Benito, Ed Ilao and Rolly Canoy.

The Team Philippines roster includes Hon. Yevgeny Emano, Hon. Emmanuel Pacquiao, Hon. Diosdado Macapagal Arroyo, Hon. Rommel Amatong, Hon. Scott Lanete, Hon. Sigfrido Tinga, Hon. Florencio Noel, Hon. Cesar Jalosjos, Hon. Neil Montejo, Hon. Sherwin Tugna, Hon. Jonathan Yanbao, Hon. Lord Velasco, Hon. Alfredo Garbin, Jr., Hon. Marc Cagas IV, Richard Gomez, Jhonny Uy, Dante Maling, Cesar Pareja, Rogelio Magsanoc, Jr., Alexander Guibone and Edward Ong.
