During her daily online news conference, Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero recognized a business for providing encouragement to the community in a time of unease.
The Governor says that on any normal weekend, residents would be out with their friends and family and today, kids would be in school while their parents go to work.
But because these aren’t normal times, hope is needed to reassure us that better days are coming.
On Monday, Governor Leon Guerrero commended the Guam Reef Hotel for being a COVID Hero and providing support to the community.
“Sometimes, we need a sign to keep us going — whether it’s a post shared on social media or lit up on the side of a hotel. Guam Reef has been arranging messages of hope using the lights in their hotel rooms. Amidst the uncertainty, we need to remember moments of strength that showcase the resilience that we all share in times of crisis. This resilience is what will help us get through this together. Thank you, Guam Reef, for being a COVID Hero and reminding us that we are not alone,” the governor said.
The governor is encouraging residents to use the hashtag #COVIDHeroesGU on their social media posts to highlight people, groups, and businesses who are stepping up to assist the island’s COVID-19 response efforts.
