Guam has until October to be fully compliant with the Real ID Act.
Guam – If you need to renew your Guam Identification or Guam Drivers License card, expect new changes.
The Department of Revenue and Taxation is implementing changes to the Guam Drivers License and Guam Identification as part of a national security requirement to be compliant with the Real ID Act. What the Real ID Act does is establish minimum security standards for IDs. With the new changes comes longer processing times. Guam Rev and Tax Deputy Director Marie Benito says what used to take 10 to 15 minutes to process an individual could take twice as long. On K57’s Mornings with Patti show, Benito explains that the new card has many security features including a bar scan at the back that will only feature information that is already available on the front of the ID.
