News Release:

The Guam Shriners, led by President Arthur Chan, and Mike Marasigan, of Håfa Adai Bingo, partnered up and made a $5,000 donation to the Guam Memorial Hospital Authority Volunteers Association (GMHVA) toward the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment for staff working to fight COVID-19 on Guam.

“This donation is in line with the mission of the Shriners to aid those less fortunate regardless of the ability to pay. This organization is responsible for assisting thousands of children every year who need medical care locally and off-island and today is no different, we, as a people need all the assistance we can get to battle this pandemic here at home.  I also want to thank Mike Marasigan, a true community partner, for his support of our people on the front lines,” said Senator Joe San Agustin.

In the short presentation, Shriners’ President, Art Chan shared with GMHVA President, Christine Calvo, that the Shriners hope the donation will be used toward the purchase of PPEs for all the staff.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to make this donation toward the purchase of PPEs for the medical personnel who are working hard to take care of our patients.  We hope this will go a long way and hopefully make it safer for those who make contact with our patients.  We thank our organization for the vision and willingness to help our island,” said Chan.
