Guam Visitors Bureau President and CEO Carl Gutierrez will be traveling to Palau to represent Guam during Palau’s 27th Independence Day ceremony.
Gutierrez is traveling to Palau not just to represent Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero but also to meet with Palau officials on the possibility of starting travel partnerships between Guam and Palau involving Guam’s source tourism markets and the airlines that service Guam.
“The governor asked me to represent the governor of Guam and I believe that because Palau probably is our next step partnership in travel. They’ve reached out twice to us from the Minister of Tourism, asking that we figure out how we can band together to make an airline movement to Taiwan and Korea, particularly those two areas,” Gutierrez said during GVB’s Thursday board meeting.
Gutierrez said they plan to have a week-long meeting with Palau officials to discuss possibilities in cross-marketing, regional marketing, and combining the travel synergies of the two destinations.
