Guam – Guam US Marshals along with the assistance of the Guam Police Department arrested Michael David Montgomery at a hotel in Barrigada, Guam, Saturday morning.
According to a release from the Guam U.S. Marshals Office, Montgomery is a fugitive wanted in the state of Colorado. He was arrested on a federal arrest warrant issued by the U.S. District Court of Guam for “Failing to Register as a Sex Offender”. In addition he has two outstanding State of Colorado warrants.
Montgomery left Colorado in August 2010 moving from state to state till he made his way to Guam on December 31, 2011.

U.S. Marshals – Guam arrest Colorado Fugitive this morning at Hotel in Barrigada
Hagatna, Guam – Guam US Marshals along with the assistance of the Guam Police Department arrested, this morning, a fugitive wanted in the state of Colorado. MICHAEL DAVID MONTGOMERY was arrested this morning on a federal arrest warrant out of US District Court of Guam for “Failing to Register as a Sex Offender”. In addition he has two outstanding State of Colorado warrants.
MONTGOMERY had been convicted of “Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor” and “Sexual Contact – no Consent” in Colorado on August, 2008. Therefore, part of his conditions of probation requires him to register with the State of Colorado Sex Offender Registry and notify his Parole Officer if he would ever leave the state. He is also required to notify authorities that he is now residing in whatever jurisdiction he moves to. In this case, he should have notified the Guam Sex Offender Registry of which he failed to do.
Colorado Fugitive MONTGOMERY left Colorado in August 2010 moving from state to state till he made his way to Guam on December 31, 2011. US Marshals – Colorado forwarded information that MONTGOMERY might be located on Guam. US Marshals Guam Fugitive Task Force and the Guam US Marshals Sex Offender Investigative Section went on the hunt for MONTGOMERY which led them to a hotel in Barrigada and the successful apprehension of MONTGOMERY. MONTGOMERY will now stand before a Magistrate Judge and await further judicial proceedings.
