Guam Weightlifting Federation 2015 Invitational

Guam – After over 10 years, the Guam Weightlifting Federation (GWF), in conjunction with the Guam National Olympic Committee (GNOC), is being reestablished to develop, promote and provide education for the sport of weightlifting.   The GWF mission is: to enable our athletes to achieve and sustain a competitive excellence in Olympic-style competition and to promote and grow the sport of weightlifting in Guam.  The previous pioneers in the sport of weightlifting on Guam have paved the way for us today and have represented Guam very proudly.  We hope to provide the same caliber of competitiveness, athletic excellence, and display of the Hafa Adai sprit to new athletes.  

To kick off our re-establishment of the GWF, we will be hosting the 2015 GWF Invitational weightlifting competition this Saturday March 21, 2015 at the Leo Palace Resort Arco Pavillion.  Male and Female athletes in 8 different weight categories will compete for a spot on the Guam National Weightlifting Team and represent Guam in international competitions.  The event will start at 9am with the womens division.  The mens division will begin at 1pm and the event will conclude with the award of medals at 3:00pm.  Entrance into the competition will be $10 and proceeds will go to the GWF to support its athletes.
