
Guam’s 15U Boys National Baseball Team claimed Gold against New Zealand on Sunday with a 12-0 Mercy Run Victory In the World Baseball Softball Classic 15U Oceania Qualifier. In a WBSC website article. “It’s the first time Guam has qualified for a WBSC event. The closest it ever came previously was a loss to South Africa in a playoff for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games”. Guam Pitcher Nolan Babauta, Nicked Named Princess, kept the Kiwi hitters at bay and gave up only two hits and got the complete game win. Babauta also led Guam in the scoring department with 3 Hits and 4 RBI’s. Guam defeatd CNMI in the earlier game to get to the Gold Medal Game agains NZ. Guam will now head to Mexico this Summer and will join Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Germany, Italy, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Mexico (wild card), Panama, USA and Venezuela for the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup.
