Guam – There will be a temporary pedestrian crosswalk on Route 16 (Army Drive), between Tiyan and Gate 1 of the Guam National Guard Readiness Center in Barrigada TOMORROW, Tuesday, November 20.
The crosswalk will be actively used by hundreds of Guam Guard Soldiers and their family members between 7.30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The Soldiers and their families will be attending day long events at the readiness center related to preparations for the upcoming deployment of the 1-294th Infantry Regiment. Continuing traffic in and out of the readiness center is also expected throughout the day, through Gate 1.
Uniformed personnel will be providing traffic control assistance in the immediate area, and temporary signage for slower speeds will be set at about 150 feet away in either direction of traffic from the crosswalk.
The Guam Guard is requesting the driving public to slow down and proceed with extreme caution while driving through this section of Route 16, observe the temporary speed limits, and follow instructions from the traffic controllers.
