Guard Members to Conduct Command Run in Agana Saturday

Guam – At least 500 Soldiers from the Guam Army National Guard’s 1-294th Infantry Regiment will be conducting a command run in the Agana area tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 17.

The battalion recently returned from three weeks of annual training (AT) held at Camp Roberts, California. The run will mark the culmination of AT13 and promote esprit de corps among the battalion Soldiers.

The unit is scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan early next year, and is tasked with security force missions at different locations around the country..

The run will start at the field on Adelup and proceed north along Marine Drive (Route 1). The unit will then run through Aspinall Ave, making its way to San Ramon Hill, and connecting onto Route 7. Following Route 7, the unit will complete its run back on Adelup.

The driving public is asked to proceed with extreme caution when they drive through the village of Agana to Adelup, between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. and anytime they see the Soldiers on the road. Additionally, orange traffic cones will mark the areas the unit is expected to run.
